About the class

Kinesthetic Parenting
classes are currently offered for parents, educators and mentors of young children, although these skills can be learned and assimilated at any age. Classes include lecture, discussion and experiential exercises.

Initially, parents explore their level of kinesthetic awareness, then build on that awareness to enhance their parenting skills.

There is a relationship between muscle tension and emotional tension. Muscles relax when a person feels comfortable and safe.

When a person feels uncomfortable or threatened, muscles tense up.

Changes in muscle tension provide a guide to what is right and wrong, and whether a situation or person is safe or unsafe.

Kinesthetic awareness provides a reference point for assessing a situation and for making choices. By learning to listen to their bodies, children can develop and improve these skills.
